The reception was very efficient and friendly. Everything was ready for the admission when I arrived, I just had to sign. The hospital staff were there all the time, friendly and always there to follow up and help. Very nice hospital experience, considering it is a hospital and an operation.

My daughter who is 11 years old was the patient. And during the whole stay, from arriving to leaving everybody treated her so well, so friendly and caring. She was very scared but were set at ease the whole time. Thank you so much.
This was the best service I have ever received. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The theatre was clean and tidy. Everyone made me feel comfortable, even though I was very scared and didn’t know what to expect. The doctor and anesthetist came to check in afterwards and made sure I was okay.

What an experience this was! An absolute 5 Star facility.
I traveled all the way from Canada for this procedure because of the unparalleled care provided by Dr. Vellema and his team—something I simply could not find in my home country or the Middle East. From start to finish, the level of detail, compassionate care, excellent communication, constant reassurance, and genuine positivity were exactly why my husband and I chose to be here.
The entire team’s dedication and passion for their work were evident in every interaction. The procedure itself was flawless—the nurses were incredibly kind, reassuring, and welcoming. It honestly felt like being taken care of by family. A special thank you to the nurses who made me laugh by telling my husband not to mention how loudly I snored coming out of anesthesia—it was such a sweet and hilarious moment.
I woke up with zero pain, didn’t need any pain medication afterward, and felt like I could go about my day as if nothing had happened. That’s a true testament to the skill and gentleness of Dr. Vellema and Dr. Hulme.
Dr. Lizette deserves a special mention for her compassion and thorough explanations. She not only includes us in her observations and tests but takes the time to walk us through every possibility and outcome. After some difficult past experiences with other clinics, I honestly get emotional just thinking about how positive this journey has been.
We are so grateful to Dr. Vellema, his team, and this incredible clinic. We look forward to building our family with them by our side every step of the way.
It is clear that George Surgical Centre sets the bar when it comes to quality, care and professionalism. George Surgical Centre Private Day Hospital was the BEST hospital experience we have ever had!!! The whole atmosphere was joyful & light. From the staff at reception, Dr Patel, the Anesthesist & nursing staff took such great care of my 92 year old father & treated him with such gentleness, kindness & patience (hard of hearing & dementia 😉) While waiting there, I was actually thinking that if all our hospitals had to be like this one, people would actually heal so much quicker! From the moment I agreed to surgery by Dr de Lange , every stuff member in his office and George Surgical Centre went out of their way to listen and help me and put me at ease. For this am grateful. If I ever need another procedure I will ask to return here.
From recent experiences I have learned that nursing and patient care is not so good anymore. BUT receiving treatment at the Garden route surgical center was amazing. The staff are so friendly, caring and dedicated. In theatre they also treat you as a person, not just someone on a trolley. Thanks for honoring your medical profession and the oath you took. Being in this facility except for the procedure was like being in a spa. I was checked up on regularly and really felt as if I was the only patient. The staff were amazing.

Top class treatment. Doctor Roux was just amazing. Dr. Withers was also fantastic . I want to mention all the staff that assisted before during and after the operation were excellent. The entire operation plus the Laser on the other eye No pain of any kind!! Unbelievable and the result was like day and night.

From my 1st Consulation with Dr Jan Botha,I was very impressed with ALL the personnel who saw me at each different stage! I was kept informed of what was being done, and the reasons. All the members of the team were very Friendly at all times & the couple of hours spent with them, I was treated at the highest level of professionalism!
On the day of my first eye operation, every member of the Surgical Team, were absolutely AWESOME as well!
Their aim was my well-being at every stage, I was kept informed of what to expect & their professionalism was also of the highest possible standard at all times!

The entire experience was pleasant and I was made comfortable at every stage. The individual attention was very welcome. In particular I enjoyed the sandwich and herbal tea on offer after the surgery. Sr. Esme en ander sr het my die hele tyd rustig gemaak en ingelig oor wanneer ek teater toe gaan, Dr Coetzee my gerusgestel oor prosedure, en na operasie se besoek en oproep toe ek by huis was om te hoor of ek okay is en dat ek enige tyd hom kan kontak as ek vrae het of nie lekker voel nie… Dr Patel is die duurbaarste dr, ek het nie vir een oomblik getwyfel oor prosedure of bang gewees nie, die manier wat hy my hanteer het het my gerusgestel dat ek in goeie hande is. Al die ander vriendelike dames – baie dankie. Dan Sr. Linda van Wyk sy het so mooi na my gekyk met my oorslaap, jy is n wenner… Sal beslis weer van die fasiliteit gebruik maak.. This was a very long awaited dream, I have had many other cheaper options , but Dr Patel really made the decision to make use of his service 200% worth it, his attention to detail, his expert opinion, his natural approach and work ethic is amazing. The staff is amazing and my recovery was so easy I felt I could go back to work 2 days after. He not only listened to my wants and needs but he had all the time in the world to deal with any concerns I had having had problems with my breasts before. My spouse was treated at GSC on 26/04/24. The care that he received was truly pleasant. I have never in my life experienced such care, friendliness and nursing in any hospital that I have had the “bad luck” to land in . Your hospital “team”, nurses and even the receptionist are to be congratulated please. The Doctors as well were quite frankly incredible!
This was my 4th visit and I have never had cause for complaint. I always feel as if I am a valued patient. Other medical facilities can definitely learn from you and your staff.

Die diens van die verpleeg personeel was uitstekend, in die saal asook in die teater. Hulle hanteer jou met respek en maak die angs wat mens ervaar soveel beter. Die narkotiseer (Dr Theron) het alles voor die tyd mooi verduidelik en na die operasie ook kom seker maak dat alles okay is. Dr Patel, sy span en die hospitaal het die ervaring aangenaam gemaak.
